Our vision is to become a leading market player . Canaf's purpose is to power progress together with more and cleaner energy solutions. We believe that rising standards of living for a growing global population are likely to continue to drive demand for energy, including oil and gas, for years to come. At the same time, the need to tackle climate change means there is a global transition under way to a low-carbon energy system.
Our people
Our people are essential to the successful delivery of the Canaf strategy and to sustaining business performance over the long term. Performing competitively in the evolving energy landscape requires competent and empowered people working safely together across Canaf.
We believe that diverse teams led by inclusive leaders deliver better safety and business performance.
Make you successful and together we can achieve this.
At Canaf, we share a set of core values – honesty, integrity and respect for people – which underpin all the work we do. The Canaf General Business Principles, Code of Conduct and Ethics and Compliance Manual help everyone at Canaf act in line with these values and comply with relevant laws and regulations.
How we conduct our business
The Canaf General Business Principles are central to how we conduct our business and living by them is crucial to our continued success. We are judged by how we act and how we live up to our core values of honesty, integrity, and respect for people. Our Business Principles are based on these. They promote trust, openness, teamwork, and professionalism, as well as pride in what we do and how we conduct business.
Powering Progress sets out Canaf’s strategy to accelerate the transition of our business to net-zero emissions, in step with society. It is designed to integrate sustainability with our business strategy.
Our commitment to contribute to sustainable development has been part of the Canaf General Business Principles since inception. These principles, together with our Code of Conduct, apply to the way we do business and to our conduct with the communities where we operate.
We have worked to embed this sustainability commitment into our strategy, our business processes and decision-making.
We aim to provide more and cleaner energy solutions in a responsible manner – in a way that balances short- and long-term interests, and that integrates economic, environmental, and social considerations.

Canaf is a global consortium group of energy and petrochemical companies that aims to meet the world’s growing need for more and cleaner energy solutions in ways that are economically, environmentally, and socially responsible.
Our operations are divided into our businesses: Midstream, Integrated Gas and Canaf's Energy Solutions (formerly New Energies), and Downstream. Our Projects & Technology organisation manages the delivery of Canaf’s major projects and drives our research and innovation.
Our Midstream sector organisation manages, namely in acquisition, transportation, storage, and wholesale marketing of crude oil, low pour fuel oil, natural gas, and natural gas liquids (butane and propane). It also markets and transports oil and gas and operates the infrastructure necessary to deliver them to market.
Our Integrated Low Pour Fuel Oil organisation manages our feedstock activities and the production of LPFO the main reason for this is since LPFO is one of the products in the fractional distillation of crude oil refining. Fuel oil is used as bunker fuel, or fuel to run boilers / furnaces, heating in many industries especially textile and cement manufacturing industries. Also used to run fuel oil / crude oil generators of heat or used in an engine for the generation of power, except oils having a flash point of approximately 40 °C (104 °F). It also markets and transports LPFO and operates the infrastructure necessary to deliver it to market.
Our Integrated Gas organisation manages our liquefied natural gas (LNG) activities and the production of gas-to-liquids (GTL) fuels and other products. It includes natural gas, and the operation of the upstream and midstream infrastructure necessary to deliver gas to market. It markets and trades natural gas, LNG, LPG, BLCO, LPFO, crude oils, electricity, carbon-emission rights and also markets and sells LNG as a fuel for heavy-duty vehicles and marine vessels.
Renewables and Energy Solutions is the part of Canaf focused on finding commercial ways to meet the evolving energy needs of our customers. These solutions include power from renewable and low-carbon sources such as wind, solar and natural gas and decarbonisation options including nature-based solutions and carbon capture and storage. This part of Canaf also develops new business models such as clean power-as-a-service, which addresses how digital technology can better help customers with their energy needs.
Our Downstream organisation serves millions of customers at retail sites every day. It manages different Chemicals and Products activities as part of an integrated value chain that trades and refines BLCO and other feedstocks into a range of products which are moved and marketed around the world for domestic, industrial and transport use. The products we offer customers include conventional fuels for road (Gasoline / Petrol - Regular 87, Mid-Grade 89, Premium 92, Diesel D2), aviation (Kerosene - Jet Fuel: Jet A & Jet A1, AVGAS: 100 & 100LL, Aviation Fuel: TS-1, Jet B, JP-8, JP-5) and shipping (Marine Fuel Oil CST 380 – LPFO); low-carbon fuels such as biofuels, renewable natural gas (RNG), hydrogen and electric-vehicle charging. We also produce and sell LNG, LPG and petrochemicals worldwide.
Our Projects & Technology organisation manages the delivery of our major projects and drives research and innovation to develop new technology solutions. It provides technical services and technology capability for our Integrated Gas, Upstream and Downstream activities. It is also responsible for providing functional leadership across Canaf in the areas of safety and environment, contracting and procurement, pipeline activities and greenhouse gas management.

Today we live in a linear, take-make-waste economy. Products are used and thrown away, denying us access to still valuable and often scarce natural resources, and further contributing to pollution.
In a circular economy, however, the entire product lifecycle is designed to eliminate waste and pollution. When one product is no longer viable, its materials and components are put back into use in other ways. Everything is recirculated, leading to the regeneration seen in natural systems.
Defining the circular economy
The circular economy, as defined by the Ellen MacArthur foundation, is based on the principles of designing out waste and pollution, keeping products and materials in use, and regenerating natural systems.
In other words, nothing go to waste and all our natural resources are used in the most efficient way, again and again. Products are produced using renewable energy. Within production processes, water, chemicals, and materials are reused, reduced and recycled.
By-products are extracted to enter other circular systems. The product is then used for as long as possible. If broken, a product is repaired instead of thrown away.
At the end of a product’s lifecycle, its constituent components are recycled, to be put back in to production again, completing the circle. Biological material that is not recycled instead degrades, renewed with sunlight, Co₂ and nutrients to enable the growth of new natural resources.
This will, of course, be a huge change for industry, but a necessary one. Is your operation ready to transition to a circular business model? If so, contact us today to learn about the many ways our solutions can help you achieve your goals.

At Canaf we are working to become one of the most diverse and inclusive organisations in the world, a place where everyone feels valued and respected.
We are taking steps to create an environment where everyone – from our employees to our customers, partners and suppliers – feels valued, respected and has a strong sense of belonging.
To achieve this, we must ensure all people are treated fairly, irrespective of their race, colour, religion, age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, disability, ethnic origin, nationality, or other status.
That starts with creating and promoting an inclusive workplace, where all staff can perform at their best. It means valuing our differences in an organisation whose employees span more than countries.
We have promoted diversity, equity, and inclusion at Canafl for many years, through our policies, leadership programmes and employee resource groups or networks. These networks represent people in different areas including gender, race, ethnicity, culture, levels of experience, people with disabilities and sexual orientation.
They help support Canafl employees’ personal and professional development. We have made progress in building a diverse and inclusive workplace, but we know that we can do more.
Everyone at Canafl is expected to live by our core values of honesty, integrity, and respect for people.
These standards are set out in the Canafl General Business Principles and our Code of Conduct. In line with our Code of Conduct, we offer equal opportunities to everyone. We work in line with local policies, laws, and regulations.
We launched a new mandatory training course, Respect in the Workplace, to help all our employees consciously include and respect others and meet our standards for acceptable behaviours.
We expect our leaders to live by our values and demonstrate these behaviours. Our Global Helpline allows employees, contractors, customers, and suppliers to raise concerns and report instances of potential non-compliance with our values and principles.

In the beginning Canaf Energy wanted to simplify LNG transfer from ship to shore; after extensive analysis and interviews with maritime companies, experts and ship captains, it was apparent that there was a tremendous opportunity to simplify LNG cargo offloading and berthing possibilities. The question then became:
"Is there a way to bring the jetty to the ship, rather than the ship to the jetty?"
Today, Canaf Energy assists the midstream, downstream and maritime markets with a jettyless IQuay™ transfer system. The IQuay technology features a game-changing floating platform system for loading, reloading and bunkering of LNG, renewable fuels and Co₂ for sequestration without the need for invasive, time-and cost-intensive fixed infrastructure.
Canaf Energy was born from first-hand experience with the challenges and inefficiencies of traditional LNG offloading methods from ship to shore. Our core offerings remove the need for fixed and permanent infrastructure such as quays, jetties, trestle structures and loading platforms.
